"Dwelling in the Gospels" :: Debbie Schwartz

In the Gospels, we get four different pictures and four different perspectives on who Jesus was. The authors craft their narrative to their specific audience to show the life of Jesus in the way that would make him most relevant to them. Matthew presents Jesus as the long-awaited King. Mark, as the suffering servant. Luke, as the Song of Man. And John, as the Son of God.

This teaching is part of our 2023 series, "Dwell: Abiding in the Shelter of the Most High.” In 2023, we will take another journey through the Scriptures, looking for the God-sightings in each book and seeing how we can learn to dwell in God's presence.

The New Testament tells the story of Jesus and the Church. All four Gospels -- Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John share a different perspective of who Jesus was and what he was here to do. Each is addressed to a different group of people, showing them who Jesus was in the most relevant manner. Today we explore who Jesus was as depicted in all four Gospels.

This teaching is part of our 2022 series, "Anchored,” and is part of our Study on the Gospels.
